With a career rooted in exceptional hospitality and a dedication to the world of wine, Matteo brings invaluable experience and insight to this prestigious competition.
Hailing from a renowned hotelier family on the outskirts of Venice, Matteo has been immersed in the hospitality industry from a young age. His passion for wine was sparked as soon as he reached the legal drinking age, inspiring him to pursue a career in the field. After earning a degree in Tourism and Catering Management in Italy, Matteo embarked on a journey across Europe, gaining experience in some of the world’s most distinguished 5-star establishments.
Since arriving in the UK in 2015, Matteo has continued to refine his expertise, completing advanced sommelier training in Italy and pursuing the WSET certification path in London. Now holding the WSET Diploma, he serves as Head of Wines at The Dorchester, one of London’s most iconic luxury hotels, where he oversees an exceptional wine program that reflects his passion and commitment to excellence.
