10th EDITION

22 & 23 MARCH

2027

Spitalfields,
LONDON

Every wine entered into the London Wine Competition receives a professional evaluation from leading UK wine buyers, Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers, sommeliers, importers and other experienced trade professionals.

Whether or not your wine wins a medal, your entry gives you detailed feedback, transparent scoring and practical market intelligence that can help improve your product, positioning and sales strategy.

1. Evaluation by Leading UK Wine Professionals

Every wine is assessed by a panel of at least four judges with direct experience in buying, importing, listing, recommending or serving wine. Each panel includes either a Master of Wine or Master Sommelier, giving every entry access to a high level of technical and commercial expertise.

2. Complete Score Breakdown

Entrants receive a transparent breakdown showing how their wine performed across the competition’s three judging criteria:

  • Quality Score

  • Value Score

  • Packaging Score

  • Overall Weighted Score

Quality represents 50% of the final score, while Value and Packaging each represent 25%. This gives producers a clearer understanding of where their wine performed strongly and where it may need improvement.

3. Detailed Constructive Feedback

Every entry receives practical feedback designed to help the producer strengthen the product and its commercial proposition.

How to Improve This Product

Judges may provide recommendations relating to flavour balance, product quality, packaging, shelf appeal, pricing perception, positioning or overall market readiness.

How to Market and Sell This Product

Entrants also receive buyer-focused commercial feedback covering areas such as target consumers, retail positioning, price fit, route to market, shelf placement, distributor potential and suitability for different trade channels.

4. See Who Judged Your Wine

The London Wine Competition provides greater transparency by showing entrants the professionals who evaluated their wines.

The “Tasted By” feature allows producers to understand the expertise, experience and commercial perspective behind their scores and feedback.

5. Buyer Market Intelligence Report

Every entrant receives complimentary access to the exclusive London Wine Competition Buyer Market Intelligence Report.

Developed from insights collected directly from working wine buyers, importers, distributors, sommeliers and retailers, the report covers:

  • What buyers consider when selecting new wines

  • Categories and styles showing the strongest growth

  • Price points buyers are actively seeking

  • Packaging and format trends

  • Categories buyers are increasing or reducing

  • How buyers discover new wines

  • Current purchasing and listing priorities

This gives entrants a wider view of the market alongside the individual assessment of their wines.

6. Professional Tasting Notes

Every wine receives professionally written tasting notes that producers can use across sales presentations, product pages, trade materials, ecommerce listings and marketing communications.

These notes provide an independent description of the wine and help communicate its style, character and drinking experience to buyers and consumers.

7. A Dedicated Product Page

Each entry receives its own product page on the London Wine Competition website, showcasing the wine’s:

  • Product image and information

  • Producer and brand details

  • Tasting notes

  • Competition scores and medal, where applicable

  • Where-to-buy or purchase information

The page remains accessible throughout the year and can provide a lasting digital reference for buyers and consumers searching for the product.

Winning wines receive additional tools to help producers communicate and activate their results.
