SCEV Domaine du Château de Meursault wins Winery of the Year France

SCEV Domaine du Château de Meursault impressed judges with its precision-crafted reds and whites—taking home top honours and solidifying its spot among France’s finest

At the 2025 London Wine Competition—an international stage where quality, value, and craftsmanship collide—SCEV Domaine du Château de Meursault was named Winery of the Year – France, a well-earned accolade for a house that continues to set the standard for Burgundy’s finest.

Tucked in the heart of Côte de Beaune, the beating heart of Burgundy’s terroir-driven legacy, Château de Meursault is more than just a historic estate—it is a mosaic of exceptional vineyards and centuries-old savoir-faire. The estate’s 67 hectares stretch across a patchwork of legendary names: Meursault, Pommard, Puligny-Montrachet, Beaune, Volnay, Aloxe-Corton, and Corton’s hill—each plot telling its own tale through the grapes it bears.

The estate’s soul lies not only in its prestigious holdings but also in its ethos. A shift to organic viticulture, a commitment to biodiversity, and sustainability initiatives—including reducing bottle weight by 15% without compromising on heritage—speak to a producer that honours the past while embracing the future.

With nearly a hundred distinct parcels, the domaine crafts wines of precision, energy, and grace. Among the highlights from this year’s competition were:

What sets Château de Meursault apart is its ability to deliver excellence across both white and red wines—a rarity in Burgundy. From the crystalline precision of their Meursault crus to the layered complexity of their Pommard and Corton reds, each bottle is a vivid expression of its terroir.

London Wine Competition 2025
