1) Eligibility:
All wineries that enter at least 4 wines into the London Wine Competition will automatically be eligible for this medal for the selected countries. You must be a Winery.
2) Judging Process:
- Wineries will be evaluated based on the total number of medals (Gold, Silver, Bronze) won across their entries.
- Average scores across all submitted wines will be considered to ensure consistent quality.
- A producer must have entered a minimum of 4 wines and, a minimum of 90% average score must be achieved between all their entries to qualify.
- A minimum of 2 gold medals must be achieved from the producer
- Following the completion of award judging, LC will shortlist that country's top five performing wineries. Short-listed producers will then be asked to fill out a questionnaire based on innovation, terroir expression, and craftsmanship. Each winery will also be asked how they are making an overall impact for their country of production.
- The judges’ feedback on this questionnaire will be factored in in selecting the final winery by the country. This approach highlights not just numerical scores but also qualitative input, reflecting innovation, consistency, and the overall impact of the winery’s portfolio. Ultimately, the final selection is at the discretion of the judges, leveraging their expertise and collective judgment to ensure the most deserving distilleries are recognized.
3) Country-Based Awards:
One winery from each participating country will be awarded the ‘Winery of the Year by Country’ Medal, recognising it as the best in its region.
4) Additional categories may be included based on trends in the market or consumer preferences. For example, in 2025 we will include the additional category of Low & No Supplier.
5) Announcement:
Winners will be announced at the time of the official results announcement. Winners receive digital and physical medals for use in marketing materials, product packaging, and promotional campaigns.
