LONDON, October 2024 – The London Competitions are thrilled to announce the addition of two new Regional and Category Ambassadors as part of their 2025 edition. These ambassadors are leaders in their respective regions and categories, helping to bridge the gap between local wine and spirits producers and the global marketplace. Their expertise will empower both consumers and trade professionals to make informed, discerning choices.
Regions: Ribera del Duero & Rioja (Spain)
Categories: Wine
Ribera del Duero and Rioja are two of Spain's most prestigious wine regions, each famous for its distinct style of red wines, particularly those made from Tempranillo. Ribera del Duero is known for producing structured, full-bodied reds that are often aged for extended periods. Rioja, on the other hand, offers a diverse range of wines, from young and vibrant to complex, oak-aged reds. These regions are celebrated for their deep-rooted winemaking traditions and are critical to Spain’s wine export market. With Francesco’s expertise, wines from these regions will have greater exposure to new international markets.

After moving to London in 2015, Francesco expanded his knowledge of wine and spirits, managing bars, restaurants, and luxury hotels. In 2019, he completed WSET Level 3, which helped refine his expertise and opened new career doors. Now an export wine manager in Spain, Francesco applies his passion to build international growth for wine and spirits, while strengthening relationships across the globe.
Region: South Africa

South Africa is one of the world’s most exciting and dynamic wine regions, known for producing a wide variety of high-quality wines at different price points. From the classic Chenin Blanc and Pinotage to international varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, South Africa has become a global wine powerhouse. The Cape Winelands are internationally recognized for their unique terroir and rich biodiversity, resulting in wines that have gained popularity among both casual drinkers and connoisseurs.
