Castorani from Italy Bags Six Awards at the London Wine Competition

03/01/2019

Recognition for Castorani as they win six awards at the London Wine Competition

Wines from Castorani, a winery in Italy, were some of the finest at the London Wine Competition as the winery was recognized with six awards at the competition. The history of Castorani dates back to the year 1793. After a slight slump in the mid 90’s the winery rose to prominence in 1999 and hasn’t looked back since. The tenacity of a group of friends (now business partners at the company) was the major reason the Castorani was brought to its former glory.

Belonging to the Alanno municipality in the province of Pescara, the Villa Castorani lies in an ideal location. The fields are exposed to beautiful sun exposure and night winds which provide for a great thermal range helping the wines from Castorani gain a unique and precious character. At the London Wine Competition held in March 2018, Castorani amassed a total of six awards across different categories. The winery itself was awarded with the distinguished Winery of the Year. Along with this, Castorani had four wines that were awarded at the competition.

These wines were:

Jarno Rosso: The wine was awarded a gold medal (having scored 92 points) and the Best In Show (By Country - Italy). Out of many wines entered in the competition from Italy, judges gave Jarno Rosso wine the highest score, making it the best wine from Italy.

Podere Castorani Reserva : The overall score received by the wine was 90 points and hence won a gold medal in the competition.

Cadetto Montepulciano and Paparazzi Prosecco  were awarded bronze medals.
