The name of our cellar is Tklapi’s Marani Ltd and it is located in Georgia (in the western part of country). “Tklapivake” is a place (district) where we have vineyards and hence we chose the name of the company.

Our wines are made of the old species of  grapes grown in the vineyards of Tklapivake. Tklapivake – a village in Imereti (western part of Georgia); Zestaponi municipality (12 kilometers from Zestaponi), situated in the river Budja (Kvirila pond). Our vineyards are cultivated through 180 meter from the sea level.

The product (bottled) is called Kapi’s Wine. However, for non-Georgian consumers, the word turned out to be quite difficult to pronounce. For Georgians, it was associated with food, which is made from “tkemali” (cherry plum) in Georgia and is very acidic on taste. It is pronounced similarly as a “tklapi”. Therefore, we decided to simplify the case for the customer and put the new name “Kapi’s Wine” on the label. Kapi - this is what close friends call the founder of our company, based on his last name - Kapanadze .

We cultivate the vineyard only with biologically pure preparations. The amount of copper applied per 1 hectare does not exceed 5 kg per year. Green work is done by hand as well as vintage. We don’t extinct weeds with herbicides, we just mow and leave them in the vineyard, which protects the soil from very high temperatures and drying out. It also enriches it.

As for the varieties: at this stage we produce three varieties of grapes - Otskhanuri Sapere, Tsolikouri and Tsitska.
