For over two decades, Spy Valley Wines has been sustainably crafting a portfolio of stunning varietals from its vineyards hidden in the Waihopai and Wairau Valleys.

These are wines that express balance. Complex aromatics complement refreshing acidity and our vineyards’ stone fruit driven whites, while our renowned Southern Valleys Pinot Noir interweave layers of red fruit, cherries, plum, spice, elegant tannins and crunchy acidity. We craft every wine and vintage to build a legacy.

 

All our wines are Appellation Marlborough Wine, the benchmark of quality and authenticity that 100% Marlborough has to offer.

The 1990s were a time of discovery and courage in Marlborough. Deep in the Waihopai Valley, Bryan and Jan Johnson had the audacity to establish 180 hectares of estate vineyards on land considered too hard, too dry and too unfertile for wine.

It was a venture that started with a passion for the land. This pioneering spirit established one of New Zealand’s most successful family-run wineries, now growing 7 varietals and exporting to 35 countries.
