ESTANO is a winery that implements organic production methods (in accordance with Reg. (EU) 2018/848 and subsequent amendments and additions) and is currently certified in conversion to organic farming.

The history of this estate as a producer of wine and olive oil dates back almost 2 centuries.

ESTANO is a characteristic and traditional baglio located in C.da Santa Maria Malpasso or “Malupassu”, on the outskirts of the enchanting Arab-Norman city of Mazara del Vallo, in the south-west of Sicily on the Mediterranean Sea.

Our idyllic internal courtyard with garden, surrounded by romantic walls, is immersed in a lush landscape of 13.64 hectares of which 75% are cultivated with vineyards and approximately 20% with centenary olive groves.

In the spring of 2022, farmer Ester Lepper and entrepreneur Anno Giesbers from the Lower Country purchased a forgotten baglio in the hills of Sicily, with a rich history dating back to the 1800s. The baglio has been run for three generations by a Sicilian family ; the last inhabitant was an eighty-year-old old woman who still harvested her olives and turned them into oil, but had been selling the grapes in recent years to a local cooperative.
