Jeremy Lithgow MW is Head of Wine at Amathus Drinks, where he oversees the company’s wine-buying strategy and the continued development of its diverse, direct-import portfolio. His career spans specialist retail, fine wine, trade sales, distribution and winery experience across the United Kingdom and Australia.
Jeremy began his wine career in UK retail, holding positions with Bottoms Up, Wine Rack and La Réserve before spending five years working across wineries, retail and distribution in Australia. After returning to the UK, he managed the prestigious wine department at Harrods and subsequently worked in trade sales at Charles Taylor Wines before joining Amathus Drinks.
At Amathus, Jeremy has helped build a broad portfolio covering everything from accessible, commercially relevant wines to fine and rare bottles. When selecting new wines, he looks for quality, value, character, market relevance and a genuine point of difference. He frequently tastes wines blind and considers how the complete proposition—including packaging and presentation—will perform in the market.
As a Master of Wine and an experienced buyer, Jeremy brings the London Wine Competition a valuable combination of technical tasting expertise and real-world commercial insight. His understanding of what consumers, retailers and the on-trade require makes him exceptionally well placed to assess wines for quality, value and packaging.
