Alex Turnbull is Head of Fine Wine at The Wine Society, one of the world’s oldest and most respected member-owned wine merchants. He is responsible for overseeing all fine wine activity for the business, from planning En Primeur, First Release, and In Bond campaigns, to working with the buyers to identifying new opportunities and emerging fine wine regions for members. Alex’s expertise draws on over 15 years’ experience, and a career that has spanned retail, private clients, online and e-commerce, and strategic roles. He believes that fine wine should be accessible above all else, and that they key to engaging a younger generation is by offering more opportunities for them to drink and enjoy fine wine, building the confidence to trade up. Alex holds a WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines and Spirits.
