Martin has been involved with wine for about 40 years and passed the MW exam 30 years ago. Over the years he has worked in almost every facet of the industry including the on trade, retail, wholesale, buying, teaching, marketing, wine making, writing and broadcasting on radio and TV. In that time he has been shortlisted for awards as ‘World’s Best Drinks Writer’ and ‘Best Wine Columnist in the UK and Ireland’

He has been writing about wine for The Sunday Times (Irish Edition) since 2012 and his judging experience includes 14 years as a panel chair at the IWC and international judge in Australia at The Royal Melbourne Show and The Canberra National Show.
