Beans Boughton MW is Buyer at Alliance Wine, where he is responsible for sourcing and developing wine portfolios from Italy, Germany, Austria, and emerging regions across Central Europe. Working closely with producers, he manages fine wine allocations, develops commercially focused ranges, and helps bring high-quality wines to market that balance authenticity, value, and consumer appeal.

Having achieved the Master of Wine qualification in 2020, Beans combines technical expertise with a strong understanding of the commercial realities of the UK wine trade. His experience spans fine wine, regional portfolio development, and long-term producer relationships, giving him valuable insight into what makes a wine successful in today's marketplace.

As a judge at the London Wine Competition, Beans evaluates wines through the lens of both quality and marketability, recognising products that not only excel in the glass but also deliver value and commercial success for consumers, retailers, and the on-trade.
