Having come from an academic background (graduating with an MSC in International Relations from the London School of Economics in 2013), Joe has worked for Majestic Wine for the last six years. After starting out on the shop floor gaining first-hand experience of selling, Joe joined the Buying team in 2016. Since then he has assumed buying responsibility for Spain, Portugal, South America and various Southern French categories, as well as managing the Rose and Fortified/Formats
selection.
Along with driving competitive advantage and sustainable profit growth, Joe considers one of his key skills to be New Product Development. Working at a specialist company has given Joe full exposure to the end-to-end process of bringing new product to market; from blending and adjustments, to brand development, label design and dry goods selection. All of these factors - combined with a well-defined sell plan - are important to the commercial success of a product and is why I am delighted to be involved in this years competition.
