About Annette Scarfe MW

Master of Wine & Independent Wine Consultant

Annette Scarfe MW was awarded the prestigious Master of Wine (MW) title in 2012, winning the Noval Award for her dissertation on Ribera del Duero. She is an active member of the Education and Events committees of the Institute of Masters of Wine.

She consults for international companies on the business of wine and is part of the Estates and Wines team (the Moêt Hennessy Wine Division). Annette also runs tastings and masterclasses for media, trade and consumers internationally. She is a WSET and Bordeaux educator and runs courses in Asia. Additionally Annette is a wine buyer and restaurant consultant in specialising in Spanish wine at London restaurants Pizarro and Jose.

Annette is a regular member of tasting panels for consumer magazines and judges at wine competitions internationally and is Chief Judge at Wine and Spirits Asia and Panel Chair at the International Wine Challenge and a team leader at Sommelier Wine Awards. She judges Spain and Middle East and Far East Asia at Decanter World Wine Awards. She has judged extensively at international competitions in three continents. Annette has lived in Singapore for 19 years.
