Master of Wine

I became a Master of Wine in 2020. I passed both theory and tasting on the first attempt and completed my research paper on cellar door tourism in Great Britain's wineries. I work for Boutinot as a product manger (buyer). I look after Spain, Portugal, Lebanon, England, North America, Hungary and Greece. We have a fantastic range of suppliers from all over the world, from Malbec to Mtsvane and Jumilla to Japan. Our four 'homes' based in the Rhone, Franschhoek, Nelson and East Sussex are incredibly important to us and we are proud to make and represent wines from across the world. Boutinot has won The Wine Merchant magazine's 'Best Independent Supplier' ten times in a row and has been working closely with most of Britain's top independent wine shops for over 30 years. Boutinot is a supplier to the On-Trade in Manchester and London and works with national groups and supermarkets.

I'm a drinks industry professional, passionate about the product, people and business; with experience in retail, restaurants, supermarket buying team, wine agency, wine education and wine-making in Australia. In 2015 I was awarded IWC Associate Judge of the Year and now am a senior judge there. I have also judged at SWA, IWSC, Decanter, as well as internationally in Spain, Turkey and Greece. Teaching about wine is important to me and I am a WSET educator, teaching mainly Diploma courses at the WSET school in London when time allows. I am heavily involved in the MW programme. I am responsible for the Stage 1 residential course at Rust from 2024 and I also serve on both the education committee and admissions commitee, as well as running my own bootcamps for MW students.
